VOLUNTEER ASSOCIATE IN CHURCH MINISTRIES DEVELOPMENT

Richard Smith

Richard Smith, A member of Baptist Temple Church, is serving as our Volunteer Associate in Church Ministry Development.  He brings to this ministry five years experience in Associational Vacation Bible School Coordination and eight years experience as the leader of our Associational Sunday School resource ministry.  All this in addition to his years of faithful service to his home church.

The principal function of the Volunteer Associate is to assist churches in the development of ministries which are intended to build and undergird each local congregation from within.

Duties include:

1.     Work with the Associational Missionary in helping churches develop ongoing ministries in the areas of Discipleship Training, Church Music, Family Ministry, Stewardship, and Sunday School/Vacation Bible School.

2.     Assist and resource associational ministry leaders who have consultative responsibilities in the areas of Discipleship Training, Church Music, Family Ministry, Stewardship, and Sunday School/Vacation Bible School.

3.     As much as possible, visit the churches, pastors, and lay-leaders for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the development of the above mentioned ministries.

4.     Report to the association as to activities, emphases, and growth.

Richard is committed to working with associational and church leadership in the development of strong "inreach" ministries.
