Churches wishing to reserve Camp Dan Valley for a camp during the available weeks should phone the Associational Office.

The Dan Valley Missionary Baptist Association, Inc., owns and operates the Dan Valley Baptist Conference Center and Camp Dan Valley. Its primary purpose is to provide a setting for camps and retreats, and to serve as a focal point for associational camp events and Christian activities. 

The conference center and camp is administered by a committee elected annually by messengers from member churches of the Dan Valley Association. The center is supported by gifts from those churches. 

Member churches may use the conference center and camp grounds free of charge. 

Families who are members of Association churches may rent the conference center for reunions, weddings, etc. Fees are shown on the "Pricing & Fees" link, and guidelines and rules are available by contacting the Association Office. 

Non-member churches and organizations may rent the conference center, or, just the camp. Since this is a privately owned conference center, the committee reserves the right to refuse use by a group whose principles or faith are not deemed to exist in accordance with Christian principles and the mission of the conference center. 

Christian activities only are allowed at the conference center and camp. No alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, or non-Christian religious activities are permitted. 

Camp Dan Valley belongs to the Association, today about 40 churches in Rockingham County, North Carolina. In the early 1950’s, about 16 acres of land were given by Mrs. Betsy Penn for a camp. Through the years the camp has developed and weathered changes, but its primary purpose has remained to offer a place for retreat from everyday routines, immersion in the natural outdoors, discovering friendships, and connecting with our loving Creator. 

During summer camp season, Camp Dan Valley echoes with voices of children and youth at play or singing new songs! Some camp events go far beyond our 16 acres—for example, overnight campers hiking at nearby Hanging Rock State Park, and Dan Valley High Adventure campers on backpacking treks along mountain trails in the Appalachians or Uwharries! Both in summer and throughout the year, there are available weeks and weekends. Contact us for use. 

Camp Dan Valley is a gift that keeps on giving! Originally Mrs. Penn gave land; today three generations have been influenced by the gift! Numerous ones who attended Camp Dan Valley as children have returned as volunteer leaders to share the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and strengthen the next generation. The gift and light continue to be passed!

Our fees do not cover all of our camp’s expenses. We rely on the Lord, who often provides through the generous gifts of individuals. If you wish to participate in the camping ministries of Camp Dan Valley, you may send a check to the address above. Make it payable to "Dan Valley Missionary Baptist Association;" be sure to write "Contribution—Camp Dan Valley" on the check. Your gift will be tax-free as permitted by law.
